Who is the audience?

Salsa has become a music genre known worldwide. However, it is also become the pride, identity, and lifestyle of Latino culture. Salsa has deep roots in Latin American Immigrants, mainly from Cuba and Puerto Rico, creating the deep connection that it has with Latino culture.
Impact on the People
Salsa has been considered one of the most influential and popular forms of music known to society. It has become the way many celebrate their identity and belonging, especially by those in the Latino community. Many describe salsa as being able to evoke “… emotions, ignites passion, and fosters a sense of community, inspiring a range of opinions and connections that reflect the diversity of human experiences”.
Impact on the dance

Salsa has developed in many ways throughout the years. Many things and people have contributed to the genre. One of them is Eddie Torre, or the “Mambo King. ” His contribution had a big impact on the development and popularity of salsa, helping it reach global audiences.
Salsa has become a fusion style of dance. Being the combination of many different cultures allows its dancers from all backgrounds to add their personal flare transforming it into the dynamic and expressive dance we know today. Along with the cultural influences, the many contemporary influences allowed it to connect generations of dancers worldwide.
